Wide Leopard Hair-on-Hide Hat Band with Slab

Leopard, but the good kind.

This is real hair-on-hide, so the spots have texture and a little shine instead of looking printed. A dark leather lace runs the length of it and a single slab sits at the center. On a bone or cream felt hat it reads western rather than costume, which is the line leopard usually fails to walk.

Fit

Band only, no hat included. It is 1.5 inches wide and 15 inches long, with about 100 inches of vegan leather lace, so you can wrap it several times or tie it once in back. It works on felt or straw and moves between hats whenever you feel like it. Made in Texas.

About the stone

The slab is dyed howlite, not turquoise. Howlite takes color beautifully, which is why it turns up in western leatherwork so often, and it costs a fraction of the real thing. It is the honest way to get the look on something you plan to wear hard. Slabs run roughly three quarters of an inch to an inch and a quarter and each one is cut by hand, so yours will not match the photo exactly.
