Why Wildflower exists
Wildflower started because we couldn't find what we were looking for. Mass-produced turquoise pieces with dyed howlite and mystery metals, sold next to the real thing, with no way to tell the difference. We wanted jewelry we could trust, jewelry with a story we knew, jewelry that felt like it belonged to a real place. So we built it.
I'm Kimberly Cordova, and I run Wildflower from Santa Fe. Every piece in the shop has been touched by hand. Cut, set, finished, or curated by working silversmiths I personally know. Some pieces are made in-house with my husband Greg, who has been working as a lapidary for years. Some are designed by me and made by local silversmiths I've built relationships with over time. Some are sourced directly from artisans whose work I admire enough to bring into the collection.
What you're actually buying
Real turquoise. Real sterling. Real makers. When you buy from Wildflower, you're getting:
- Authentic stones. Turquoise from named mines, including our own claims at King's Manassa in Colorado and White Buffalo in Nevada. Other pieces use stones from Kingman, Royston, Sleeping Beauty, Number 8, Golden Hills, Carico Lake, and other named sources. Read more about our owned-mine sourcing.
- Genuine sterling silver. No nickel, no plate, no mystery metals. Stamped 925 or Sterling.
- Hand craftsmanship. Each piece reflects the work of a real person, not a factory line.
- Direct sourcing. Where we don't make a piece in-house, we work directly with the artisan or trusted curator who did. We disclose source and treatment on every listing.
Most pieces are one of one
Because of how we source and create, most pieces in the shop are truly one-of-a-kind. That's not marketing language. It means if you're drawn to a piece and wait too long, it's likely gone. We can't always remake something exactly. That's part of what makes turquoise jewelry feel personal. The stone, the matrix, the maker, the moment. None of it repeats exactly.
How we work
Wildflower is a lean operation by design. I handle the brand, the listings, the photography, the marketing, and the customer experience. Greg handles the lapidary work and stone sourcing for our owned-mine material, with his lapidary work also feeding our affiliated rough business, Cutting Edge Turquoise. We work with a small circle of trusted silversmiths and artisans whose work we believe in. Every order is packed by hand in Santa Fe.
