Instead of stacking the pattern in horizontal bands like most southwestern weaves, this one runs everything on the diagonal. Wide slanted stripes of aztec geometry in red, teal, olive and plum cross a pale ground, with small horseshoe motifs tucked into the corners.

The diagonal is the whole trick. It keeps the blanket from looking folded and formal when it is thrown over the arm of a chair.
