A Black Jack turquoise ring in sterling silver, size 8 1/4. A 17.5 carat round cabochon, blue-green broken up by heavy black matrix, bezel set in silver. This is the largest stone in this group and it wears like it.

Black Jack is the high-contrast one. The blue in it comes from copper and the green from iron, and running through all of that is a bold black matrix that cuts the color into panels instead of drifting across it in fine lines. It is the opposite of a quiet stone. At 17.5 carats in a round cut, it covers the finger and it is meant to be seen.

Size 8 1/4 with a stone this size puts it comfortably in unisex territory. It reads as a men's ring on a larger hand and as a serious statement ring on a smaller one. If you are shopping for someone who already owns delicate jewelry and wants one piece with real presence, this is it.

Who made it
Joyce Benavidez and Jill Monfiletto built this ring at Cutting Edge Turquoise, our family turquoise and lapidary business, around a stone cut in their own shop. That is not how most turquoise jewelry gets made. Usually the rough passes from a dealer to a cutter to a silversmith to a gallery, and nobody along that chain has seen both ends of it. Here the same hands chose the rough, cut the cabochon, and set it in silver.

Will it fit you
This ring exists in one size only: 8 1/4. There is no second one in another size, because there is no second stone. If you are unsure of your size or you are between sizes, message me before you order and I will help you work it out.
