A row of alpaca silhouettes worked into the weave, in grey, brown, black or blue against cream. Charming without being cutesy, which is a narrow target and this one hits it.

Heavier hand than the Andean blankets and finished with three and a half inches of fringe at each end.

What it is made of

50% alpaca, 35% wool, 15% synthetic. More natural fiber than the Andean blankets, and you can feel the difference in the drape. It hangs heavier and softer.

About 72 by 56 inches with three and a half inches of fringe at each end. Sofa scale.

Where it comes from

Made in Peru, fair trade, with a portion of proceeds going back to the Peruvian artisans who make it.

Care

Hand wash cold with a mild detergent or baby shampoo. Do not wring or twist it, just press the water out gently. Lay flat to dry away from heat and direct sun. Dry cleaning is also safe if you would rather not deal with it.

Light steam to refresh. Never iron it directly.
