Wide Black and White Speckled Hair-on-Hide Hat Band with Slab

Black and white speckle, which goes with more than you would think.

Real hair-on-hide in a fine salt-and-pepper speckle, edged top and bottom with dark brown lace. From a few feet away it reads as a neutral, so it works on a black hat, a cream hat or anything in between, and the slab ends up being the only color on the whole thing.

Fit

Band only, no hat included. It is 1.5 inches wide and 15 inches long, with about 100 inches of vegan leather lace, so you can wrap it several times or tie it once in back. It works on felt or straw and moves between hats whenever you feel like it. Made in Texas.

About the stone

The slab is dyed howlite, not turquoise. Howlite takes color beautifully, which is why it turns up in western leatherwork so often, and it costs a fraction of the real thing. It is the honest way to get the look on something you plan to wear hard. Slabs run roughly three quarters of an inch to an inch and a quarter and each one is cut by hand, so yours will not match the photo exactly.
