Navy ground with teal, rust, gold and cream geometry stacked in dense bands. There is a lot in it, and every time you look you find another row you missed.

Comes in both sizes, which is worth knowing because this pattern reads very differently folded on a chair than spread across a bed.

What it is made of

50% alpaca wool, 50% ultra-soft acrylic with recycled content. I am putting that right here instead of burying it, because "alpaca blanket" gets thrown around loosely and you deserve to know what you are buying. This is a real blend. The alpaca half is what makes it warm and soft as cashmere. The acrylic half is what makes it washable, hard to wreck, and $150 instead of $400.

Size

Two sizes. Queen runs about 90 by 78 inches and covers a queen bed with overhang. Throw runs about 78 by 45 inches and is the couch and camp chair size.

Reversible either way, so you get two looks in one blanket.

Where it comes from

Woven in Ecuador by local artisans on looms that have been running for roughly a hundred years. A portion of what you pay goes back to those artisans. That arrangement is a big part of why I brought this line in.

Care

Machine wash cold on gentle or delicate with a mild detergent. Skip the bleach and skip the fabric softener, both of which flatten the pile. Hang it or lay it flat to dry and reshape it while it is still damp. Do not put it in the dryer.

If it pills a little in the first few washes, that is normal for a blended fiber. A fabric shaver or a soft clothes brush sorts it out in about a minute.
