Blue Bird Turquoise

Blue Bird Turquoise
Mineral Park, Arizona
Soft sky-blue turquoise from a small Arizona mine, now extremely limited.
Where it comes from
Blue Bird turquoise comes from the Mineral Park area of northwestern Arizona, in the same broader region as Kingman. Production was always small relative to its larger neighbor, and most cabbed material now in circulation comes from older stock rather than current mining activity.
What makes it distinctive
The color skews pale sky blue, sometimes with light pyrite, quartz, or fine brown veining. It's quieter than Kingman, less dramatic than Bisbee, and recognizable to collectors for its consistent washed-blue character. The stones tend to be smaller and more selectively cut because supply is limited.
How to identify it
Look for that gentle, almost robin's-egg blue without the deep saturation of premier American mines. Matrix when present is fine and light, not dominating. Genuine Blue Bird is becoming harder to source, so trust your supplier and ask about origin documentation.
